For the Birds

Pretty low-key Fourth for me, which is kind of how I like it. The temps were perfect though. Not too hot, great breeze. Any day I don’t have to run the AC in the summer is a win, more because I hate AC and less for the cost.

In other news, the universe seems to be trying to tell me something. When I went walking on Saturday, I saw something move out of the corner of my eye going down the path behind the Art Museum. I thought, probably just a squirrel, but, then again, I have run into a groundhog there before, so that would be cool. I looked. It wasn’t a groundhog or a boring squirrel. It was this:

Yeah, that’s right. That’s a mother-fucking hawk that landed within maybe fifteen feet of me. How cool is that?

And this morning as I was getting ready, I heard a bird chirping outside, not unusual. But this one sounded super close. Guess what? It was:

Just chilling on my windowsill.

Not entirely sure what the universe is trying to tell me, but it’s sure saying something. 🙂

A day late to posting, but, hey, yesterday was a holiday, and today I have pics!
