Sitting back, sipping mimosas, and tootling about the internets. It’s a very good Saturday morning. There’s the pleasant whir of Steph’s (Grey’s) spinning wheel and Deb’s got herself lost in a good fic. We may be a couple months late this year, but Writers Weekend is always a good idea, especially with Amish Friendship Sangria and mimosas at hand.
I tweaked the website a bit, although I’m still not satisfied; made new business cards; and even wrote. Technically it’s rewrites. Of Modus Vivendi, now Pointe of Contention. Yeah, my first published book. It needs it. Strong bones, but I was a younger writer with much to learn and live. Blah blah blah. In any event, I want to get it well polished to go with the second book I finally finished last year (and still need to revise), then get them out into the world. I’m toying with the idea self publishing mainly for the fact that it’s preferred not to mix and match your pairings in a series–I go from MMF to MF and am planning on and FF, potentially FFM. Whatevs. I’m only two chapters into the re-writes, so that step is a fair ways off. I’ll deal with that when I get there.
So yeah, me writing again, sorta. Yay? I really need to start setting aside dedicated writing time, especially now that I’ve moved off the reception desk and fully into marketing. Not that I was taking advantage of writing at work like I used to because not writing, much.
And if you’re looking for a great way to be productive and procrastinate? Google Earth for mapping out your fictional town seven or so years after dreaming it up.
Writing on Writers Weekend and spending a fantastic weekend with good friends. Life is good. Even if the bloody sun is shining. Ah well.
